Vic: Pier damaged in fire
A discarded cigarette butt is believed to have caused a fire which damaged the heritage-registered
Princes Pier in Port Melbourne.
Firefighters .. supported by water police .. were called to the blaze about 9 pm last night.
A spokesman says the fire was minor .. burning a pylon and wooden area under the pier
.. about halfway out.
